Joshua Martin felt a strong calling to serve his country after the events of September 11, blending his passion for aviation with his desire to make a difference. Although he had no family history of military service, he graduated from West Point and commissioned as an aviation officer in the U.S. Army. He became qualified in the OH-58D and MH-47G helicopters, serving with the 101st Airborne and completing multiple deployments with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR).

Tragically, a severe motor vehicle accident ended Josh’s flying career. After being medically retired from the Army as a captain, he continued to pursue excellence, earning an MBA from Vanderbilt University. Today, he works at a top management consulting firm and stays active as an amputee, showing resilience in both his personal and professional life. Josh and his wife, Colleen, live in North Carolina with their two young children, continuing to embrace life’s challenges together.
