This is Jon’s first outing with AFW2 as a Wounded Warrior and he looks forward to showcasing what adaptive sports can do as part of the recovery process.

What does the Invictus Games mean to you?

Being an athlete for Team US is an honor that I’ll cherish forever. Starting from Air Force Trials to Warrior Games, it gave me focus to get back on my feet and in shape. I was headed down a dark path for quite some time thinking that I wasn’t capable of working out and being athletic any longer. With the support of Air Force Wounded Warrior, they helped me find myself again and got me back out there competing amongst other Warriors. Being part of Team US for Invictus is a testimate to what can happen of you allow yourself to heal and just put one foot in front of the other. Your journey could also inspire others to do the same.
