Biathlon | Indoor Rowing | Skeleton | WCB

Carnell Martin joined the military in 1987 with a desire to be part of something bigger than himself and to build a legacy his children could admire for generations. Over the course of his career, he served in Desert Storm, Desert Shield, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He attributes much of his success to the senior enlisted Marines who mentored him early on, shaping him into the person he is today. During a convoy mission in Iraq in 2003 to capture Saddam Hussein, his vehicle hit an IED, resulting in multiple injuries for Carnell and his fellow Marines. Despite this, his competitive spirit as a Marine never wavered. Discovering adaptive sports through his Wounded Warrior unit reignited his passion for competition and gave him a new lease on life. For Carnell, adaptive sports foster teamwork, pride, and lifelong friendships. He’s eagerly anticipating the Invictus Games, ready to showcase his hard work and dedication.
