Master Sgt. (ret) Blanca Baquero-Cruz enlisted in the USAF in Mar 1999 and served as a Cryptologic Language Analyst. She was enrolled in the Air Force Wounded Warrior Program in Summer 2018 when she was struggling with diagnosed PTSD as result of Military Sexual Trauma. Blanca wants audiences to know the importance of the AFW2 program and how it helps members with invisible wounds in their recovery process. She competed in the 2019 Warrior Games and continues to use adaptive sports as part of her long-term recovery and resiliency.

What does the Invictus Games mean to you?

Representing Team U.S. and the Air Force at the Invictus Games means the goal I set for myself when I started my recovery has finally been achieved. After my trauma in 2017, I was at an all-time low in my life with PTSD and depression. With the help of adaptive sports, I have my smile back and I am pride of what I have accomplished!
