MSG Michael T. Haley served as Infantry Senior Sergeant. After a spinal cord injury from a parachute accident he entered the Fort Stewart SRU to begin his recovery. While there, he discovered adaptive sports. Haley competed in the Adaptive Sports Camp in 2023 and went on to represent Team Army at the Warrior Games Challenge in the same year. Haley says that friends in the sky diving community have been great support. This means in addition to ongoing recovery, he helps many jump schools and says that is also therapeutic for him. Haley said he will get back in the sky one day, as soon as he recovers and overcomes. MSG Haley enjoys being on Team Army to show others you can come back from anything.

What does the Invictus Games mean to you?

The Invictus games is an opportunity to challenge myself as an athlete on an international level. I am honored to represent Team U.S. As competitors we all share a commonality that we would never see in any other format. At the games I can challenge the limits of myself and others, and bond with our allies in our new normals.
